Cosmology is at an exciting crossroads with massive interest and resources being directed towards solving mysteries such as cosmic acceleration and the nature of dark matter with South Africa participating via the construction of the large facilities SALT, MeerKAT and the SKA.

The Cape Town International Cosmology School, aimed at PhD students and post-docs, will provide a cross-disciplinary introduction to modern cosmology covering theory, multi-wavelength observational cosmology and statistical methods. The school will use an innovative mixture of lectures, tutorials and actual research project work, with particular emphasis on interaction and network building between students, tutors and lecturers. In keeping with the ICTP philosophy third world students will be supported as fully as possible.

The school will be held at the beautiful Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Studies just outside of Cape Town.
